We Are Almost There!

Are your skis or snowboard tuned and freshly waxed for the highly anticipated 2008/2009 winter season? If not, it's time to get your gear in order because we are mere days away from what is projected to be an epic year at Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort. If you heard the rumor that Lookout Mountain has been extended, well you heard correctly. We increased the vertical drop from 1,247 feet to 1,722 feet; that's right Lookout Mountain's Vertical drop is nearly comparable to the Backside. And, not only did we extend one of our best known tree skiing areas featuring some of the best tree skiing in Tahoe, we have also done some new tree thinning for improved glade skiing.

Did you know we also have a new intermediate run on Lookout Mountain? How about the new Martis Camp Express Quad lift, or the new advanced snowmaking system on Lookout? We have invested over $15 million this year on the mountain and in the village for your enjoyment!

I can't wait! We'll open as soon as Mother Nature provides us with cool enough temperatures to create and maintain that ever-so-lovely Tahoe snow.  Be sure to check out our current conditions report.  Keep your fingers crossed and do a dance for the Snow Gods -- I already have.  The Village at Northstar is open with an array of fun-filled activities for the whole family.  Did you check out everyone having a great time in our village?  We'll be skiing before you know it!

Looks like Opening Day has been pushed back again. I have to run to SF this weekend, hopefully when I get back next Wednesday everything will be open!

Hey Matt,

We will have The Gondola, Vista Express, Arrow, and a late opening for Bear Paw. We've been pumping that snow and were able to open more terrain than originally anticipated. We will continue to open more terrain as temperatures. Check out our current conditions report for details.
