I checked out the new trail Washoe and WOW! As soon as we get a couple more feet of snow the powder skiing back there is going to sweet. Yesterday was the first chance I had to check out the new trail and lift extension, talk about the new hot spot at Northstar. Don’t worry, with all the tree thinning and glade work done, there is room for everybody. Forecasts are calling for 6-12 inches at the Summit tonight and if predictions stay on track throughout the week, we could see 12-18 inches on Christmas and a inches in between. We had a little bit of mixed precipitation today which normally I would frown on, but with the thin and light snow we received throughout the last week, it is just what we needed to create and maintain a solid base. Meaning, we should be tree skiing with minimal rocks and trees if this storm stays on track!
I love riding on Christmas and it looks like it will be snowing all day, how cool is that? Open your presents, have a Christmas breakfast, and come on out to Northstar for some great skiing. I didn’t take any footage of The Backside or Lookout Mountain North Shore
See you soon,
Chris
