Wondering Where to Go this Morning?

With over 75% of groomable terrain groomed overnight and sunny skies, the conditions are sweet!  I don’t know what you would rather be doing than throwing a nice coat of wax on you skis or board and heading up to Northstar Resort.  If your thinking where to go this morning, you should take The Tahoe Zephyr and cruise down Sodegren’s, then head over to Burnout on The Backside for a couple of runs.  After that I would say take The Lookout Link to Washoe(usually a really smooth trail bright and early), after that we’ll see sun gleaming off of the majority of the trails, so everything should be good.

Sunshine and Blue Skies!

We might see a little bit of precipitation tomorrow along with some gusty winds, but after that nothing but clear skies at least for the next week.  We are experiencing a little above normal temperatures, especially for January.  

 The snow conditions are still good and holding, just be sure to bring your sunscreen if you don’t want those raccoon eyes.   Don’t forget about our Moonlit Snow Shoe Tour happening tomorrow and Friday, we should have vividly clear skies, especially Friday night.  You do have to register online because there is limited availability.  As for skiing, I recommend coming up early and taking a few runs off off The Tahoe Zephyr, then head to the backside and after your all good and warm cruise some park laps(if that is your thing).  Besides that all you’ll need to have a good day on the hill at Northstar right now is a wax, spring clothing, and a few friends.  I’ll have another update for you tomorrow along with a video.

Snowell Signature Tune.

Have you had your skis or board tuned lately?  If not we have a great tuning and repair shop called Snowell.  They can take care of just about anything with their state of the art equipment and expert staff.  If you click the video below you’ll see how complex and efficient the machine really is.  If your like me and hard on your ski equipment or if you just need an all around tune, iron wax, or ski and binding mounting Snowell will take care of you.  That is not all they offer, I would be rambling on for days if I were to list all their services.  So if you feel like a tune next time your visiting, drop your board off at the Demo Shop for a tune, wax, or whatever your equipment needs.  Remember, it is important to keep your gear in shape, kinda like the difference between bald and new tires. 

Other than that, the park is in great shape and there is some finely cut corduroy to be had at Northstar Resort right now.  We might see a few snow showers the next couple of days and after that temperatures are looking a little warmer than usual with lots of sunshine later this week, so be sure to bring your sunscreen.

Snow is Falling!

We are expecting snow showers throughout the day with a possible snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches on The Summit.  I’ve been having good times cruising around the resort lately, talk about some good snow conditions especially for January 1st, we have barely broke the ice for the winter season.  The Terrain Parks are looking great right now!  Our Terrain Park Crew has put together some unique features inviting unlimited creativity from about every skier and rider.  The jump line is un-questionably phenomenal!  I hope you had a chance to come visit us during the holidays, everyone seemed to be having a great time on the hill.  Sorry I haven’t updated this blog in a while, I was just blessed with new video and editing equipment, been in the process of figuring it all out.  Click the picture to check out my first video with some of the new equipment.  Send me a comment, let me know what you think.  I’ll try to head out today and get some more footage and keep you updated regularly.
