It has been dumping all day long up here at Northstar and the forecast is not letting up anytime soon. The temperatures have been dropping all day, when I got here in the wee hours of the morning it was raining in Truckee and snow/rain in The Village. Since then it has just been constantly dumping snow from top to bottom! 16” did fall on the Summit last night and I’d say about a foot today, giving us over 2 feet in a 48 hour period. The high tomorrow is around 27 degrees and we are expecting another 10 to 20 inches of fresh light fluffy powder. I can’t freaking wait until tomorrow morning! If you haven’t made up your mind where you are skiing or riding tomorrow, we are going to be your best bet with the heavy winds forecasted the next couple of days.
You’ve probably heard it before but Miracle March is here, especially with these below normal temperatures and tons of precipitation waiting to come across the Sierra Crest. You’ve got to be crazy if you don’t get up here and enjoy some of the awesome conditions we have right now. I did a little bit of video from yesterday, not very long but at least it gives you a visual.
Hope to see you up here,
Chris
