I love the fact that it's November 27th and I have already had 5 powder days. I love that those powder days were full of face shots and bottomless turns. I love feeling exhausted at the end of a great day. I also love the fact that it is still snowing. Hard.
I have many favorite spots to hunt for powder here at Northstar. Yesterday I felt particularly ecstatic when I was on my way up the Comstock chair and got word that the Backside ropes were just about to drop. We dropped into the trees and heard a stunning q u i e t. Then something great happened. My partner Cory had decided to shoot slow-mo, and asked me to do a slash for the camera, and let me tell you, I got him good. I slashed so much snow on him that his face was covered and I could barely see his eyes poking out. We both laughed for a bit and then got back to ripping tree runs through untouched powder fields. Here is a quick glimpse into that moment:
