C’mon snow!

I may be biased, but I have to say that our snowmaking team is amazing. They’ve been busy working day and night to add to what Mother Nature delivered Wednesday night.

They’ve got the snow guns cranking! The team re-fired them up last night with the drop in temperatures and has been making snow from the top of Vista to the bottom of Village Run, as well as in the new Big Easy beginner teaching area. We’re already at 1 foot deep across 10 acres!

Forecasts call for temperatures to remain cold the next few days and nights, so our snowmaking efforts will continue. Get ready for some of the best early season snow conditions in North Lake Tahoe when we open on November 21!

I don’t know about you, but the arrival of cold temps and snow has put a perma-grin on my face! And, we’re only a week away from Opening Eve! Be sure to check back for updates…

Hey, Old Man Winter! Welcome back!...

… it’s so nice to see you again! We hope you had a great summer off, but it’s time to get back to work! Forecasters keep telling us this could be a big El Nino winter, and we’re ready. Bring it!...

Well snow fans, he did bring it last night – at least a taste of the white stuff we remember… We woke up to a winter wonderland (check out the cams!), complete with chain controls this morning! The forecast calls for cold temps to remain through the weekend, and we’re prepared to crank up North Lake Tahoe’s largest snowmaking system at every opportunity to make sure you are skiing and riding on some of the BEST early season snow conditions around the lake next weekend!

Yep, that’s right. We’re on track to open Saturday, November 21, and we can’t wait to see you!

Get your gear together, figure out your carpool plan for next weekend, and mosey on up! Haven’t yet purchased your pass? Don’t worry – it’s not too late. You can still pick up a Double Whammy Season pass – starting at just $399 – and ski or ride both Northstar and Sierra-at-Tahoe Resorts all season long.

Winter Weather Returning to Tahoe!

It may only be mid-October, and we may have literally just been wearing shorts and flippy floppies, but there’s no denying that Mother Nature is getting an early start as she gears up for winter. I don’t know about you, but all this talk about it being an El Nino winter is getting me really excited for the season to start!

El Nino, you ask? Yes, my friends. Think BIG snow… Think snorkel-worthy…

So… what does that mean for you? It means you’re not going to want to miss out on an epic winter! And, it’s not too late to get your Double Whammy season pass and ski or ride both Northstar and Sierra-at-Tahoe Resorts all season long. Really, if you come up five visits or more, your pass is paid for. After that, it’s all bonus. With passes starting at just $399, you can’t pass it up.
